Scarfhat

Sometimes you just want to make a big silly hat. Unfortunately, they are just not that practical. That's why the scarfhat is the perfect solution!

Both a scarf and a hat - Practical!

OR
Big silly hat - Fun!

Materials:
1 skein Sensations Rainbow Boucle
1 skein Caron One Pound
Size 9 double pointed needles (4)
*note* You'll only need about 1/2 to 3/4 of a skein of each yarn, so a couple of regular sized skeins of caron will do the trick, but it may be cheaper just to buy the One Pound. Rainbow Boucle only comes in giant size, but it's beautiful yarn and I like to have extra laying around.

I used Deep Purple Caron One Pound and Berry Print Rainbow Boucle for this hat. If you are not all that in to purple I've tried several other color combinations that look great together.
Light Blue Boucle and Bright White Caron:

Red Boucle and Scarlet Caron:

Dark Blue Boucle and Cape Cod Blue Caron:

Need yarn? You can get it from Joann at the links below. Unfortunately, it looks like the online selection of Rainbow Boucle is very limited.

This one definitely goes on my "to make" list. I've wanted a long pointy hat for a while :)

I have been looking for this hat for years! I want it so much, I'm about to join the university knitting society, just so I can make it. Oh, and so I can learn to knit of course.
